Google shares trade at 1,000 US Dollars

Google shares have topped $1,000 for the first time, jumping 13.8% yesterday after the company reported better-than-expected earnings. Shares in the online giant closed 122 points up at $1,011.4, and have risen 42% since the start of 2013.

Google shares at record high

Google has reported a profit of $2.97bn during the July-September period, beating expectations. Shares in the company jumped to an all-time high in afterhours trading, rising 6% to $941.25.
